In a country where most public toilets are the kind you squat over, it's important to look on the bright side of bathrooms. One that especially delighted me the other day was a "Western" style (sit down) toilet stall in a public women's restroom with a separate, miniature porcelain sit toilet for your tot. Isn't that cute?
The other one was not the toilet itself but the sign: An arrow and the word "TOELET." As in, a mini toe.
So much for bathroom humor.

Oh my! So weastern toilets are rare in Korea? This might end up weighing heavily into my decision for where to go!
One other bright side.... I read a paper the other day about how very few people in Asia have hemorrhoids, the low incidence of which was attributed to the more natural arrangement of innards while using Asian style toilets.
To add to Zoe's comment, Asian style toilets (a long basin in the ground; think horizontal urinal) are actually quite comfortable when you get used to them, and are arguably more sanitary; you don't sit down on anything.
